Things you need to know
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
A USI is a lifelong education number that records your vocational education and training (VET) history in Australia. It is required for all university, TAFE, and nationally recognised training courses to receive Commonwealth financial assistance and obtain your qualification.
To complete your application, you must provide a USI. If you don’t have one, you can create it here.
To register, you’ll need verified proof of identity, such as an Australian Passport, Visa, Birth Certificate, Driver’s Licence, Medicare Card, or Citizenship Certificate. Learn more about verifying your documents here.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment
An LLN Assessment helps identify the support learners may need in these areas to successfully complete their course.
- This assessment determines whether learners can:
- Understand and communicate in English (Language)
- Read, write, and comprehend course materials (Literacy)
- Perform basic calculations for study or work (Numeracy)
By assessing LLN skills at the start of training, Sureway Training can tailor learning support to individual needs, ensuring students have the best chance of success in their studies and careers.

I recently completed the Certificate III in Business Administration with Sureway Skills Training and had an excellent experience. The course was well-structured, with easy-to-follow materials and fantastic support. My trainer, Amie, was incredibly helpful – always available to answer questions and guide me through. Thanks to this course, I’ve successfully transitioned from a receptionist to an administrative role. It’s given me the confidence, skills, and knowledge to take the next step in my career.

Balancing work and study was challenging at times, but the support SST provided made it manageable. The team was outstanding; their support and guidance was a key part of my success. Since completing the course, I’ve gained clarity on my professional path. I’ve now enrolled in a Bachelor of Social Work to continue developing my skills and make a greater impact.

During the time I was training with SST, I gained so much knowledge and now have a better understanding of the work I do. They helped and guided me through the assessments and any challenges I came across including questions or concerns I had. They helped me achieve my goal in completing my Cert III in Individual Support (ageing & disability). I’m happy to say that all there is, is positive feedback about SST.

My Experience with SST during my Certificate III in Early Childhood Educaton and Care, was wonderful, the online platform was really easy to navigate and the support I had from my training facilitator was second to none.Â
I gained a piece of my myself back and through my journey have been put up for Vocational Student Award and have gained permanent employment at my local preschool. Without SST, I wouldn’t be at this point in my story, so thank you.

I studied my Diploma in Community Services and am currently studying Certificate IV in Mental Health. I find SST amazing, and feel that my extra needs are taken into consideration. I found the training facilitator was amazing with any questions I had in regard to both my studies. The support I received from SST has made a big difference in my learning journey.
